A major event bringing together 250 stakeholders, elected officials, and sustainability experts at the Palais du Luxembourg. Organized in partnership with the Elected Officials & SDG Collective and under the patronage of Loïc Hervé, Vice-President of the Senate, this conference mobilized 30 members of the collective to strengthen elected officials' commitment to integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into local policies. This initiative helped identify territorial challenges and develop a clear roadmap for the 2026 municipal elections.

Creation of 713 School Desks in the DRC

Democratic Republic of Congo - April 2024

AI-ODD has partnered with organizations such as Maped, UVIRA, RFI, France Médias Monde, and the 6-12 agency to transform education in the Goma region. This symbolic action resulted in the creation of 713 desks, ensuring that children no longer have to study on the ground. This concrete project directly addresses SDG 4 (Quality Education) and illustrates the organization's commitment to equal opportunities.

Launch of the SDG Mapping project with Jouvence Publishing

AI-ODD has developed innovative SDG maps, tailored for local authorities and businesses, enabling a comprehensive assessment of each SDG and the identification of new actions. Platform Dedicated to Local Authorities

Following the Senate symposium, an innovative platform was established to centralize resources and support local authorities on their path to sustainability. This platform plays a crucial facilitating role, providing tools, best practices, and action guides for elected officials and local government staff.

Awareness Campaign on Violence Against Women

Senegal - March 2024

AI-ODD Senegal launched a competition entitled "Causes and Consequences of Violence Against Women," in collaboration with Cheikh Cissé and his team. This awareness-raising initiative involved academics and contributed to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by mobilizing young people around women's rights.

Low Carbon Transition - Investment in Equality

Ivory Coast - March 2024

In partnership with AFD and Expertise France, AI-ODD Côte d'Ivoire participated in a national "Low Carbon Transition" action on March 8, 2024. This initiative combined climate issues (SDG 13) with women's rights (SDG 5), showing how the ecological transition can benefit the most vulnerable populations.

Integration of the SDGs into University Master Plans

France - 2024

AI-ODD partnered with FNCAS to integrate the SDGs into universities' Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility Master Plans. This six-month program, conducted with Agence 6-12 and Isabel Sitbon, included drafting a model strategic plan, creating a training module on the SDGs, and developing appropriate communication materials.

AI-ODD India and Odisha conducted a major campaign involving over 1,000 villages in 10 districts, reaching a population of 300,000. Actions included:

Women's Empowerment

Burkina Faso - 2024

760 internally displaced girls and women received training in entrepreneurship and life skills:

  • Training in plastics recycling (from jerrycans to brooms, from mats to biodegradable bags)

  • Production of traditional African fabrics and loincloths

  • Creation of 4 operational SCOOPs

  • Providing schooling for 20 children facing integration difficulties

  • Mobilization against poverty in the DRC

UN Future Summit - New York

United States - September 2024

Abdel Zegrari, Vice-President of AI-ODD France, participated in the 2024 Future Summit at the UN in New York, which focused on "a collective vision for a sustainable future." Conference "Between environmental crisis and climate migration"

France - April 2024

AI-ODD participated in a conference organized by students of IAE Savoie-Mont Blanc in partnership with Crédit Agricole des Savoie in Annecy-le-Vieux. Pascale Fressoz explained how the SDGs provide a framework for addressing the complex challenges of climate migration and the ecological transition.

Mayors' Forum - Geneva

Switzerland - October 2024

AI-ODD France participated in the 4th UN Mayors Forum in Geneva, alongside the Strasbourg Eurometropolis. This major meeting between the UN, UN-ECE, UN-Habitat, and mayors from around the world committed to the SDGs provided a platform for exchanging best territorial practices.

Strasbourg Territorial Interviews (ETS)

AI-ODD participated in this national conference for territorial managers organised by the CNFPT and the INET. As part of an "Inspiration Bubble", Pascale Fressoz and her team led a session entitled "Going to Elected Officials: Defining a roadmap based on the SDGs", alongside personalities such as Josiane Lei, Mayor of Evian, and committed territorial managers (December 11 and 12, 2024).

COP29 - Baku

Azerbaijan - November 2024

Umar Saleh Anka, Vice President of AI-ODD and head of AI-ODD Nigeria, participated in COP29 in Baku. He led the delegation from Yobe State, engaging in discussions on water management, rice production, climate finance, and the role of NGOs in climate change adaptation.

COP16 on Desertification - Riyadh

Saudi Arabia - December 2024

Lahcen Kabiri, President of the Oasis Ferkla Association for the Environment and Head of AI-ODD Morocco, presented several interventions at COP16 in Riyadh (December 2-13, 2024). His contributions focused on oasis conservation, sustainable water management, and solutions to combat desertification.

Dillip Pattanaik, representing AI-ODD India, also participated to share Indian experiences in climate resilience and sustainable development.

Priscila Fischer, Vice-President of AI-ODD France, received an award for her commitment to the SDGs, particularly for her work with Indigenous peoples in Brazil on the UMUPUKATU (Forest Portal) project. Twelve young activists from various countries (Brazil, Germany, India, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Iceland, Kenya, England, and Malawi) also received awards, reaffirming the organization's commitment to young leaders.

Participation in the COMETE Club
